ABOUT JESSICA

Jessica is an assistant  professor, textbook author and former newspaper reporter. She teaches reporting and editing at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She worked as a reporter for The Associated Press, Boston Herald and The Patriot Ledger. In December 2019, she earned a master's degree in professional journalism at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Jessica loves editing and loves teaching editing. She still remembers the time and place she first used an AP Stylebook. She is annoyed when nouns, verbs and pronouns don't agree. While Jessica loved a lot of things about news reporting, she most loved discovering stories no one had told before and lifting the veil off the operations of government.

She enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, her book club, cooking, smelling lavender and traveling to New England in the summer even if it sometimes means spending 48 hours in a car with her children.
